Founded in the 1970s. Built for Generations.

Eire Constructions began on the Central Coast of New South Wales, founded by Tom Kelliher. A water infrastructure specialist from the outset, Eire’s first project involved installing sewer reticulation for Gosford City Council in Terrigal helping the community transition from outdated septic systems to a modern sewer network.

An entrepreneur at heart, Tom set out to build a sustainable business that could create opportunities for his family and, one day, be passed to the next generation.

“When I started the business, modern sewer networks were replacing outdated septic systems. There was a lot of this work at the time, and I believed I could build a business by helping communities transition from on-property effluent treatment to centralised sewerage systems.

“As a young Irish migrant, I was fortunate to travel across Australia delivering this type of work from Broken Hill, Aberdeen and Old Bar to Rockhampton. Along the way, I built more than a business. I built a life, a family and a future for my boys and my extended family. I’m very proud of that.”

— Tom Kelliher, Founder

From the beginning, Eire built its reputation by taking on the difficult jobs, working alongside clients as a genuine delivery partner and staying with challenges until they were solved. More than 50 years later, that same determination, pride in quality and self-perform capability continue to define who we are — or, in Tom’s enduring words, simply “knowing our stuff.”
