As part of the Federal Government’s scheme to provide a dual carriage highway from Sydney to Brisbane, Eire Constructions was engaged as a sub-contractor on an $862 million project for Lend Lease.

The project featured interchanges for motorists to safely enter and exit the highway and a continuous alternative local road link.

The scope of Eire Constructions’ involvement in the project included the construction of 26 Bio-retention basins, 17km of multi-cell drainage installation ranging from diameters 375 to 1500, traffic management, bulk earthworks and plant hire.

Eire Constructions overcame several challenges associated with the project, including traffic management to limit the speed of oncoming traffic near the work site, and the completion of drainage line works within one day as the road was required to be open at 5pm each day.

The road restoration work, quality placement of asphalt and aesthetics were completed to a high standard as the work was in a highly trafficable area for the general public.
