Eire was awarded the Fixing Country Bridges Program for the PMHC. The high priority bridge upgrades are a combination of single span modular bridge replacements and box culvert structures – 8 total, throughout the regional Mid North Coast area.
Eire is working closely with local traffic control contractors – utilising roadway detours to ensure traffic flow and keep critical services open.
The bridge upgrades aim to improve vehicle access and safety for community, improve the flow within the creeks and increase road capacity for future growth.
Eire has ensured timely delivery with careful construction staging and the contract is on track to be completed late this year.
Key Works:
- Construction of 4 Bridges and 4 Culverts at various locations in the PMHC Region.
- Demolition of all existing timber bridges including disposal.
- Supply and installation of box culverts including base slabs and subbase preparation.
- General concreting works including culvert base slabs, bridge abutments, linking slabs.
- Bridge Piling including geotechnical engineering support.
- Installation of Inquik bridge components.
- Construction of road pavement including Asphalt/chip seal.
- Construction, management, removal, and stabilisation of temporary bypass tracks.
- Vegetation removal, including erosion and sediment control.
- Earthworks including batter construction and select filling.
- Treatment of unsuitable subgrade.
- Relocation of Telstra services.
- Scour protection to creek batters.
- Structural inspections and certification for all works.
- Traffic management.
- Line marking and road furniture.
- Environmental, safety and quality management to requirements of REF.
