At Eire Constructions. We’ve achieved a major milestone, securing the competitive $18.4 million contract to build the state-of-the-art Crescent Head Water Treatment Plant. This high-profile win highlights Eire's rapidly expanding elite capabilities in the regional water sector.

Tasked with replacing a severely outdated system, Eire's expert teams will design and construct a modern 1.08 ML/day facility to guarantee year-round water security for residents and thousands of tourists. Supported by federal and state funding, this critical project cements Eire's reputation as the premier partner for delivering essential, high-stakes infrastructure across regional New South Wales.

We’re pleased to announce that Eire Constructions has been selected to deliver the new $18.4 million Crescent Head Water Treatment Plant, an essential project funded by the Australian Government, NSW Government and Kempsey Shire Council. This significant win reflects our growing capability in the water treatment sector and strengthens our ongoing footprint across regional NSW.

Crescent Head’s existing 1987 treatment system can no longer meet the needs of a growing community or peak tourist periods, when the population swells from 1,600 to more than 6,400 people. The new plant will provide a safer, more reliable and more resilient drinking water supply year-round.

Our scope includes:

  • Design and construction of a new 1.08ML/day treatment plant

  • Upgrades to the Maguire’s Crossing Borefield and network connections

  • Construction of a new wastewater transfer pipeline

  • Commissioning and removal of ageing infrastructure

  • Construction is scheduled to start in early 2026 and take around 12 months.

This project is one of five major water infrastructure upgrades underway across Kempsey Shire, representing a once-in-a-generation investment in regional water security. The new Crescent Head plant will:

  • Improve drinking water quality to Australian standards

  • Strengthen drought resilience

  • Reduce operational costs tied to water carting

  • Support tourism and local economic growth

This is an exciting milestone for Eire and a testament to the hard work of our project, estimating and tendering teams.

Well done to everyone involved, and we look forward to bringing this important project to life for the Crescent Head community.
