Client: CENTENNIAL COAL
Project Value: $7 M
Turn Key: Pump Station
Duration: 6 Months
Key Components: Road Construction, Pipeline Construction, Pump Station.
Located near Lithgow in Central West NSW, Mt. Piper Power Station delivers a combined generating capacity of 1,400MW, meeting the energy needs of approximately 1.2 million homes. Civil works to install a pipeline, were completed adjacent to an existing operating haul road. Closure or suspension of the haul operation was not an option. Construction of a triplex water pump station with a capacity of 20ML/day to supply to Mt. Piper Power Station would need to take these challenges into consideration.
EIRE completed the construction of transfer mains, pump station, and associated civils. Project scope included the completion of the detailed design, which required close communication with the client, mine operations team and collaboration with several construction crews to ensure a fit for purpose product was delivered.Project scope also required that EIRE Constructions design, build, and install the Pump Station and associated prefabricated switch room, 5.5 kilometres of DN560 HDPE transfer Pipeline, and 500 metres of communications DN280 HDPE Pipeline. The project involved several internal and external crews, external design partners, and was delivered with zero unplanned disruptions to the operating mine services.
