Family Retreat Cabin gives seriously ill kids much needed getaway

Eire Constructions generously sponsored a Forster Holiday Cabin to give children and their families a much needed holiday on the beautiful Mid North Coast.

Eire Constructions generously sponsored Family Retreat Cabin Four at Forster to give children and their families a much needed holiday on the beautiful Mid North Coast.

On 19 March 2019 Eire Constructions Tadhg Kelliher. Peter White celebrated with the Ronald McDonald House team, volunteers and families. The sponsorship helps Ronald McDonald House operate and maintain the deluxe cabin for the next twelve months.

Nearly two hundred families enjoy the Family Retreat each year

“There’s no charge to families to enjoy up to a weeks family holiday. For most families, it’s their only chance to take a holiday due to costs ongoing hospital and medical appointments. Our aim is to provide as much as possible so the family has as little as possible to think about, nearly two hundred families enjoy the retreat each year and this includes families from the Hastings region,” said Rhiannon Curtis Ronald McDonald Family Retreat Forster Coordinator.

Linen, some groceries and a voucher book with up to $350 worth of discounted or complimentary offers to enjoy. Each child receives a welcome gift. Cabins are all self-contained with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry to give families freedom and flexibility.

“The sponsorship gives families with a seriously a child an opportunity to relax on holiday during a difficult time. Eire Constructions is proud to support this important cause,” said Tadhg Kelliher.

The Family Retreat help relieve a little stress with a welcoming and peaceful environment, near the beach and waterways. Families with a seriously ill child, or those grieving the loss of a child, can come together in a calm and relaxing setting, away from the hospital environment.
