Eire Constructions is set to commence a $3 million dollar project to construct a major link road through the Kempsey Industrial Estate.
Local residents can expect less heavy vehicle traffic through their streets when the missing link road is completed in March 2018.
The works will deliver a much needed alternate route for heavy vehicles which currently travel through residential areas. The new route to the industrial estate will make the area safer for local residents and the community.
The tender process to secure the project was competitive and demonstrates Eire’s commitment to best practice, safety and superior civil construction.
The project involves the construction of a roadway capable of carrying Heavy Vehicles from South Street through to Gowings Hill Road. The existing South Street will be extended for one kilometre through the industrial estate and see two new intersections installed at both Gowings Hill Road and Middleton Street.
The earthworks component of the project will see 15,000 cubic metres of bulk earthworks and the installation of drainage infrastructure including box culverts.
