Inverell Shire Council has awarded Eire Constructions the contract for the rehabilitation of the Inverell Sewerage Treatment Plant.
The two existing aeration tanks at the Inverell Treatment Works require major repairs to the floor and walls. There is currently not sufficient capacity to run the treatment works on only one tank, hence the need for the additional tank. To complete these repairs a temporary aeration tank needs to be constructed and commissioned to allow the existing tanks to be decommissioned separately and repaired.
The rehabilitation works include the construction of a new 45 by 30 metre aeration tank including piling, installation of pipework to service the tank, installation of pumps, reticulation, earthworks and road construction.
The works are expected to be commenced following the Christmas break and completed in May 2017.
