Eire Constructions has been selected to work as part of the WHBO McIlwain Joint Venture to duplicate 3.8 kilometres of Tourle Street and Cormorant Road, Mayfield West. The upgrade includes the construction of a second bridge over the Hunter River.
Tourle Street and Cormorant Road form the main corridor connecting Kooragang Island to Newcastle CBD and the southern section of the port of Newcastle. The upgrade of this section is necessary to improve traffic flows for the 33,000 vehicles using the corridor each day, cater for future expected traffic growth and improve safety for all road users.
Eire Constructions will be responsible for the relocation of Hunter Water Assets in the area involving 2300 metres of Dutile Iron and Mild Steel water mains ranging from 375 to 660 diameter, construction of valve pits and thrust blocks that incorporate bored piles.
Our committed and experienced Southern Division will make light work of this project.
